JAKARTA - Mount Lewotobi Male in East Flores Regency (Flotim), East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) erupted four times today, Thursday, January 16.

Based on information issued by the Center for Volcanology and Geological Hazard Mitigation (PVMBG), the Geological Agency, the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) stated that the eruption occurred at 14.06 WITA, 16.20 WITA, 16.36 WITA, and at 16.52 WITA.

In the first eruption, the height of the ash column was observed to be at approximately 700 meters above the peak or about 2,284 meters above sea level. The ash column was also observed in gray with thick intensity leaning towards the north and northwest.

This eruption was recorded on a seismogram with a maximum amplitude of 14.8 mm and a duration of approximately 5 minutes 58 seconds.

Furthermore, in the eruption of the two columns of ash, it was observed that it was at approximately 1,000 meters above the peak or about 2,584 meters above sea level. The ash column was observed to be gray with thick intensity leaning towards the north and northeastern.

This eruption was recorded on a seismogram with a maximum amplitude of 14.8 mm and a duration of approximately 7 minutes 34 seconds.

In the eruption, the three ash columns were observed to be located at approximately 600 meters above the peak or about 2,184 meters above sea level. The ash column was observed to be gray with thick intensity leaning towards the north and northeastern.
