DPR Asks The Police To Completely Investigate The Darso Case That Was Persecuted By Police Officers
Member of Commission III of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Hasbiallah Ilyas asked the National Police to investigate the case of the death of Darso, a resident of Gilisari Village, Purwosari Village, Mijen District, Semarang City, who was allegedly abused by the Yogyakarta Police Traffic Unit.
The member of the commission in charge of legal affairs emphasized that the police must not hesitate to give strict sanctions if there is a mismanagement procedure that triggers the victim to die.
"We ask that the handling of this case be carried out in a transparent manner. The National Police must not hesitate to impose sanctions on officers who violate procedures," said Hasbiallah Ilyas, Monday, January 13.
Hasbi reminded the police to handle cases without covering up the process of investigating cases of death of residents. According to him, transparency is important to ensure that the Police act fairly and stand above all interests.
"Transparency in investigating this case must be carried out so that all can be identified as the cause of death and who was involved in this case," said Hasbi.
The PKB legislator also asked the police not to hesitate to impose sanctions on the police officers involved in the Darso death case. Even if they are not proven guilty, they must be explained transparently.
"Anyone who is involved in this case should not hesitate to be given strict punishment if it is proven to be involved in the persecution that caused the death of the Semarang resident," said Hasbi.
Hasbi also encouraged the police to periodically conduct psychological examinations to measure the psychological capabilities of the police. Moreover, he said, recently cases involving police officers have been quite intense.
"The persecution case involving the police should not happen again, the prevention process must be carried out," he concluded.
As previously reported, a resident of Semarang died after being allegedly abused by a number of members of the Yogyakarta Police Traffic Unit. This incident led to an alleged criminal act of persecution that led to death.
Initially, Darso received a number of police officers who visited his house at 06.00 WIB. A few hours later, his wife, Poniyem received a report that Darso was hospitalized.

While still being treated at the hospital, he found wounds on his limbs, namely on the face of Darso's right hand. Before he died, Darso told his wife that the police from Yogyakarta who hit him in the head, stomach and chest.
Darso was treated for six days at the hospital but died on September 29, 2024 or two days after returning from the hospital. The Central Java Regional Police will conduct an exhumation of Darso's body to find out the cause of the investigation.
