Iran Holds Nirawak Version Of Qaher Stealth Fighter Jet Trial

JAKARTA - Iran successfully conducted a test flight of the unmanned Qaher-313 stealth fighter jet last month and the results were promising, an official said.

The Managing Director of the Iranian Aviation Industry Organization (IAIO), a subsidiary of the Ministry of Defense, Brigadier General Afshin Khajefrd, said the domestically made Qaher fighter jet was being developed as a pilotless aircraft in a project conducted by domestic experts, quoted from Tasnim on January 5.

In the 12th Iranian International Aerospace Exhibition (Iran Airshow 2024) held on Kish Island last month, Brigadier General Khajenard announced that the unmanned fighter jet had successfully completed its first test flight, as reported by Tehran Times.

Brigadier General Khajenard noted that the pilotless version of the Qaher fighter aircraft is currently undergoing test flights and has produced "promising results".

The Qaher-313 single-seat stealth fighter jet was launched in February 2013. The jet can take off and land on a short runway.

Brigadier General Khajefrd added that Iran plans to develop various training jets to achieve self-sufficiency goals in this sector.

"The Ministry of Defense's top priority is to complete the Armed Forces training fleet," he added.

Brigadier General Khajenard then appointed a new combat helicopter manufacturing project for the navy. He said the fighter helicopter had been designed by local experts and would be launched in the near future.

It is known that Iranian military experts and technicians in recent years have made great progress in the manufacture of various domestic equipment, making the armed forces independent in the arms sector.
