Buru Police The Perpetrator Of The Muna ASN Murder In The Kendari Hotel Room

Kendari Police are pursuing the perpetrator of the murder of a state civil servant (ASN) of Muna Regency Government AKB who was found dead in a hotel room in Kendari City, Southeast Sulawesi Province (Sultra).

Poasia Police Chief AKP Jumiran said the discovery of the victim's body was first reported by residents who explained that a body was found in one of the hotel rooms, at 17.15 WITA.

"Initial information was received from the hotel at around 16.00 WITA, hotel officials reported an unpleasant odor from the victim's room which made them suspicious," said Jumir as quoted by ANTARA, Friday, January 10.

After learning this, the police immediately went to the crime scene (TKP) to conduct a crime scene investigation on the discovery of the body and were taken to the Bhayangkara Kendari Hospital.

Meanwhile, the Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Kendari Police, AKP Nirwan Fakaubun, revealed that his party suspected that AKB was a victim of murder because when he was found there was a lot of blood pouring in the room. In fact, in the area of the victim's chin and hands there were also stab wounds.

"It is suspected that he experienced violence, there were sharp weapons stab wounds," he said.

One of the witnesses with the initials E said that the discovery of the corpse began when he was about to confirm the process of checking out the guest at 12.00 WITA. At that time, the hotel knocked on the door of the victim's room, but there was no sign of anyone in the room.

"Finally, we tried to call the guest contact number, but it was not connected," he said.

Because there was no answer, he said, his party then decided to open the hotel room using a spare key.

When opened, a person was seen on the bed covered in a blanket, but his party thought the guest was sleeping or drunk.

However, when examined further by several hotel employees, they smelled a pungent smell from inside the room. Suspicious by that, his party then reported to the hotel and police management.

At around 16.00 WITA, the door was then fully opened and it was confirmed that the man was dead.

Currently, the police are conducting an investigation and are asking for statements from a number of witnesses at the scene.
