In The Aftermath Of Shin Tae-yong's Dismissal, Commission X Of The DPR Will Call The Minister Of Youth And Sports And PSSI January 21

JAKARTA - Commission X of the DPR will summon the Ministry of Youth and Sports and PSSI in the aftermath of Shin Tae-yong's dismissal as coach of the Indonesian National Team (Timnas). The summons will be held after the DPR RI has finished undergoing a recess on January 20.

"(Because) this is still a recess period, later the recess will be completed on 20 (January). We plan to God willing, on January 21, maybe in the afternoon," said Deputy Chairman of Commission X DPR Lalu Hadrian Irfani, Wednesday, January 8.

As a working partner of Commission X of the DPR, Lalu said that his party would certainly invite the Minister of Youth and Sports, Dito Ariotedjo as the government's representative by including PSSI.

"At the very fast we will invite the Minister of Youth and Sports in this case, who is a direct partner of Commission X. We invite the Minister of Youth and Sports by including PSSI. We adjust the schedule for the Minister of Youth and Sports," he continued.

In addition to STY, Then said, Commission X of the DPR will also discuss naturalized players. The reason is, there are two foreigners who are proposed to get Indonesian citizenship to defend the national team.

"Of course we will discuss a lot, first, about naturalization. Naturalization is important because we in Commission X have received a letter," he said.

"There are two foreign nationals who will be naturalized. Whether it will later be included in the senior national team or the U-20 national team, we don't know yet," he added.

Commission X of the DPR, said Lalu, will also ask about PSSI's strategic steps in the short term. Moreover, in the near future the Garuda squad will travel against Australia in the qualification of the third round of the 2026 World Cup.

"Secondly, we will ask about PSSI's strategic plan in the future, in the short term. The short term is against Australia with a new coach. That's 2.5 months whether PSSI can afford it. Now, this is a question from the public," he said.

Then emphasized that Commission X of the DPR did not want to interfere in PSSI's affairs after the viral news of STY's dismissal. However, he said, as the commission in charge of sports affairs, his party received many complaints to pay attention to the future of Indonesian football.

"It's not that we, the DPR, want to interfere, no. But this community is complaining to us. Complaining to members of Commission X in this case. Even in other commission members so that we also often communicate," concluded Lalu.
