3 Defendants Of Corruption In The Aren House Project In Bengkulu Sentenced To 1.3 Years In Prison

BENGKULU - Bengkulu Corruption Court (PN) sentenced one year and three months in prison for three defendants in the corruption case of the construction of a house in Rejang Lebong Regency.

The three defendants, namely Donni Enfido Simanjuntak, Eddy Wibowo and Adrri Anugrah, were found guilty of causing state losses of up to Rp. 300 million.

"It is legally and stated that the three defendants, based on their actions that have harmed the state, were sentenced to prison for one year and three months each," said Bengkulu District Court Chief Justice Agus Hamzah in Bengkulu City, Wednesday, January 8, as reported by Antara.

He said, based on the witnesses and evidence that had been stated in the file, it had led to the three defendants and the defendant also admitted his actions in the case.

For this reason, the three defendants were sentenced to Article 3 subsidiary Junto Article 18 of Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 31 of 1999 as amended by Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 20 of 2001 concerning Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption, Junto Article 55 paragraph (1) to one Criminal Code, and to release the defendant from primary punishment.

Furthermore, he said that based on this article, he also sentenced the three defendants to prison terms and fines.

The three defendants, namely supervisory consultant Eddy Wibowo, Deputy Director of CV Manunggal Adrri Anugrah and PPK Donni Enfido Simanjuntak were each fined Rp. 60 million, subsidiary to three months in prison.

"The same verdict from the three defendants is in accordance with the subsidiary article with Article 3 and from the punishment it is reduced by the length of the sentence that has been served," he said.

Previously, investigators from the Rejang Lebong District Attorney's Office (Kejari), Bengkulu, detained three suspected perpetrators of corruption in the house construction project worth Rp1.3 billion in 2021.

Head of the Rejang Lebong Kejari Francisco Tarigan when holding a press conference in Rejang Lebong said the house construction project used the Special Allocation Fund (DAK) budget of Rp. 1.3 billion, where the value of losses in this activity reached Rp. 300 million.

"The project for the construction of the palm sugar production house is 57 points in Sindang Kelingi District. The project is managed by the Department of Trade, Industry, Cooperatives and SMEs of Rejang Lebong Regency in 2021," he said.

In these activities, there were no initial planning, and there were even some fictitious work known to the three suspects, both providers and supervisory consultants.

The three suspects were charged with violating Article 2 and Article 3 of Law Number 31 of 1999 as amended by Law Number 20 of 2001 concerning Corruption, with a threat of 15 years in prison.
