Increasing After The New System, Ministry Of Law And Human Rights: Recording Copyright During 2024 A Total Of 177,889

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Law (Kemenkum) noted that there were 177,889 copyright records during 2024.

Intellectual Property Analyst of the Directorate General of Intellectual Property (DJKI) of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights, Stevanus Rionaldo, revealed that the number of records has increased sharply compared to previous years.

"A sharp increase has occurred since 2022 after the implementation of the POP-HC (Automatically Approval for Copyright Registration) system," said Stevanus at an IP Talks event monitored online in Jakarta, Wednesday, January 8, which was confiscated by Antara.

He detailed that copyright records in 2021 were only 83,070, but after the POP-HC in 2022, copyright records increased to 117,084, then copyright records increased to 141,999 in 2023.

Stevanus explained that the POP-HC was launched on January 6, 2022. The POP-HC was carried out by aligning the copyright recording process business related to the declarative principle so as to shorten the completion time from a matter of days to minutes.

The average completion of copyright recording through the system is only between five minutes to 10 minutes after making payments.
