Regional Tax Realization 2024 IDR 44.46 Trillion, Chairman Of The DKI DPRD: I'm Not Satisfied

JAKARTA - Chairman of the DKI Jakarta DPRD Khoirudin appreciated the realization of regional taxes in 2024 of IDR 44.46 trillion or 98.85 percent of the target.

However, Khoirudin assessed that this achievement could actually be increased. The DKI Provincial Government can still reap even higher regional income.

"I'm not satisfied, because tax revenue is a normal income, which forces taxpayers to comply with the rules that have been made by the government," Khoirudin told reporters, Wednesday, January 8.

Thus, Khoirudin asked the DKI Provincial Government to increase the revenue target of the regional tax sector. However, if possible, the increase in the opinion does not take from household taxes or people per person.

"Jakarta is a city of services, metropolitan, where most of the money is circulating, of course it is very possible. All major entrepreneurs are here. We will discuss it with the Head of Bapenda (Regional Revenue Agency)," explained Khoirudin.

One of them is the existence of hundreds of mini tower telecommunications in public spaces that have only paid a retribution of Rp. 1 million for life. In fact, the mini tower uses government-owned road assets.

"That should be managed by Bapenda. It's not the retribution we get, it should be a tax. Now the internet is a necessity in Jakarta's life. Tax from space for conversation traffic should be made by maximum providers to Jakarta," he said.

The Regional Revenue Agency (Bapenda) of DKI Jakarta Province recorded a regional tax realization in 2024 of IDR 44.46 trillion. This figure was reached at 98.85 percent of the set target of IDR 44.98 trillion.

The value of tax realization in 2024 is higher than the realization of regional taxes in 2023 which amounted to IDR 43.52 trillion. In other words, the amount of income sourced from taxes rose 2.15 percent or IDR 936 billion.

The highest component of tax revenue comes from motor vehicle taxes (PKB) and land taxes and rural and urban buildings (PBB-P2).
