Banten Ulama Support PSN PIK 2: Said Aqil Siradj Calls The Project To Live The Abandoned Land

TANGERANG - Former General Chairperson of the Nahdlatul Ulama (PBNU) Executive Board for the 2010-2021 period, KH Said Aqil Siradj, along with dozens of clerical figures throughout Banten expressed support for the National Strategic Project (PSN) Pantai Indah Kapuk 2 (PIK 2).

The declaration of support was delivered at the event at the Fisherman's Palace Ballroom, Tangerang City, Monday, January 6, 2025. Several parties involved in PSN PIK 2, including Muannas Alaidid, were also present at the event.

In his statement, Said Aqil explained that this support was given because the project has provided real benefits for the community, especially by reviving land that was previously abandoned.

"I saw the commotion in Tangerang, finally called too. I support PSN because the goal is to revive abandoned land. If there are abandoned lands and then left without effort, we will sin," Said Aqil told reporters.

The graduate of the S3 University of Umm Al-Qura, Mecca, also added that another benefit of PSN PIK-2 lies in the construction of access and public facilities that can be enjoyed by all people.

"I am talking about marrafiqil ammah (public facilities), because mosques, parks, maybe hospitals and recreation areas will be built," he said.

Said Aqil hopes that through this meeting with clerical leaders throughout Banten, understanding can be created regarding the sustainability of PSN PIK 2.

"These scholars want something good. If there is a difference of opinion, it can be resolved properly. The point is, today we want to share perceptions," he said.
