Shin Tae Yong Fired PSSI, Chairman Of MPR: Hejasa Gives Beautiful Memories For Indonesian Football

JAKARTA - MPR Chairman Ahmad Muzani also responded to the news of the sudden dismissal of Indonesian National Team coach Shin Tae Yong by PSSI.

According to Muzani, the South Korean coach has contributed by providing beautiful memories for the world of Indonesian football.

It is known, under coach Shin Tae Yong, the Indonesian national team managed to make it through the third round of the 2026 world cup qualifiers.

However, Muzani respects Erick Thohir's decision to always be the general chairman of PSSI. He considered, whatever PSSI's decision was, it was the best for Indonesian football.

"Shin Tae Yong has contributed to making us the Southeast Asian champions, right. And we are a country that is taken into account in our football world. But yes, everything has to end up. And that's something natural," said Muzani, Monday, January 6.

"No matter how great a person must be, there must be an end and it is the authority of the General Chairperson of PSSI to immediately end the time and so on, Mr. Erick's authority as Chairman of PSSI," he continued.

The Secretary General of Gerindra admitted that Shin Tae Yong had contributed and made a small contribution to the world of national football.

"As people who provide services to our world of football that is not small. He is a person who has contributed to giving beautiful memories to our football world. We thank Shin Tae Yong," said Muzani.

It is known, shocking news came from PSSI. Shin Tae Yong, a South Korean coach who has handled the Indonesian national team for the past five years, has been officially dismissed from his position. This decision was announced by PSSI at a press conference on Monday, January 6.

PSSI General Chair Erick Thohir stated that this decision was taken as part of a massive evaluation of the performance of the national team at various levels. "We thank Shin Tae-yong for Shin Tae-yong's dedication so far. However, PSSI decided to look for new directions in national football development," he said.

Erick promised that on January 11, the prospective replacement coach for STY in the Indonesian national team will come to Jakarta.

Even on January 12, the media can conduct interviews and ask questions with the new coach.
