JAKARTA - The Palestinian Ministry of Waqf and Religion declared more than 800 mosques in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, Palestine, destroyed by Israeli attacks throughout 2024.
The data, as quoted from WAFA, was submitted through a special ministry report regarding details of Islamic and Christian religious sites throughout the Palestinian territories that Israel damaged and published on Sunday.
According to the ministry, through the report, Israeli Zionist soldiers had destroyed 815 mosques and damaged 151 others.
In addition, 19 burial areas did not escape the destruction caused by Israel, with existing tombs damaged and buried bodies there excavated again.
The report also states that three churches in Gaza City were destroyed by Israeli forces in its aggression against the Gaza Strip.
The Palestinian ministry also condemned the Israeli settlers' attack on the Al-Aqsa Mosque complex in Jerusalem. The ministry's report states that there have been 256 cases of settlers who stormed the holy site throughout 2024.
The ministry revealed that Israeli authorities gave freedom to extremist settlers groups to attack and harass the Al-Aqsa Mosque.
During the attack, the settlers often perform their worship rituals by insulting the feasibility of the Al-Aqsa Mosque.
The move was even carried out by high-ranking Israeli official Itamar Ben-Gvir, who is known to be in extreme right-right politics.
