Demonstration At KPK, PMN Urges Regent Of Banggai To Be Examined

JAKARTA - The Nusantara Student Association (PMN) has urged the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) to examine the Regent of Banggai Amiruddin Tomoreka. There are allegations that he violated the 2023 Regent Regulation (Perbub) regarding the distribution of social assistance funds (bansos) amounting to Rp120 billion.

The coordinator of the action, Faber Riswantoro, said that the social assistance funds should be implemented in 2025. However, the distribution occurred a year earlier or 2024.

"There is a suspicion of corruption in authority by the Regent of Banggai Amiruddin Tamoreka. For that we ask the KPK to investigate and examine the Regent of Amiruddin," said Faber at the KPK's Red and White Building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Friday, December 20.

Allegations of violations are getting tighter because there are no technical instructions for the implementation of the Rp120 billion social assistance funds, continued Faber. "Obviously we suspect," he said.

"The use of social assistance funds of Rp120 billion is suspected to be beneficial for the implementers of activities that are indicated to be close to the Regent of Banggai Regency, Central Sulawesi. Including relatives and relations," he continued.

In addition, Faber also mentioned the unclear of the accountability report for the use of the budget. In fact, each sub-district has a quota of up to IDR 5 billion.

"And there is one sub-district in Toili whose information has not been officially disbursed by the Ministry of Home Affairs but has received the budget," he said.

"This is a mess. It turns out that in 2024 it will be disbursed, what is wrong with Mr. Amirudin Tamoreka. Meanwhile, the spirit of Mr. President Prabowo Subianto, we must clean up corruption and so that the spirit is also upheld by the KPK," concluded Faber.
