KPK Finds Out Letters From PDIP To MA When Checking Yasonna Laoly
The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) revealed that investigators studied the letter sent by the PDI-P (PDIP) DPP to the Supreme Court (MA) when examining former Minister of Law and Human Rights (Menkumham) Yasonna Hamonangan Laoly or Yasonna Laoly.
This was conveyed by KPK spokesman Tessa Mahardhika when asked about Yasonna's examination as a witness to the alleged interim replacement bribery (PAW) that ensnared former PDIP legislative candidate Harun Masiku on Wednesday, December 18. The letter is said to be related to the interpretation of the Supreme Court Decision Number 57P/HUM/2019.
"That YL was present yesterday for his examination, he was asked for information and knowledge of a letter from the PDIP DPP to the Chairman of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Indonesia regarding the Supreme Court's application for a Supreme Court fatwa against a different interpretation by the KPU," Tessa told reporters at the KPK's Merah Putih building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Thursday, December 19.
Meanwhile, regarding Yasonna's confession of providing data on Harun Masiku's crossing to the KPK, Tessa did not want to talk much. He claims to have received little information from investigators who handle this case.
"So the information shared by the investigators regarding why he was summoned is as I have already conveyed it," he said.
"More details do not exist because it is material. So we'll just have to wait for the next update," continued the spokesman with the investigator's background.

He was questioned regarding the alleged bribery of the interim replacement process (PAW) that ensnared PDI-P candidate Harun Masiku.
"My capacity (first, ed) as Chairman of the DPP (PDIP, ed)," Yasonna told reporters at the KPK's Merah Putih building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Wednesday, December 18.
Yasonna explained that investigators asked for an explanation regarding the letter to the Supreme Court (MA) which he signed to ask for an interpretation of the Supreme Court Decision Number 57P/HUM/2019. He said that the document was signed to ask for an explanation because there was a difference in understanding between PDIP and the General Elections Commission (KPU) regarding the votes of legislative candidates (caleg) who died.
