SAR Team Updates The Manifest Passenger KM Lorena Sari, Total 73 Not 51
SITUBONDO - The joint Search and Rescue (SAR) team updated the passenger manifest data of the Lorena Sari wooden ship sinking between the Madura-Situbondo sea waters. The accident victims amounted to 73 people, not 51.
A total of 2 people died, 1 was missing and 70 passengers were rescued.
"The latest data we obtained after evacuating the victims of the sinking wooden ship at the Feri Janger Port, all passengers including the crew of the KLM Lorena Sari amounted to 73 people, five of whom were crew members," said the Commander of the SAR Operations Team from the Jember SAR Post Basarnas in charge of Situbondo, Jefri in Situbondo, Antara, Sunday, December 8.
As of 21:30 WIB, he said, the 69 passengers of the wooden ship had been returned to their respective homes after receiving medical treatment in the waiting room of the Janger Feri Port.
Meanwhile, one passenger, continued Jefri, had to get medical treatment because his health condition was not good after the incident of the sinking of the wooden boat he was traveling in.
The Lorena Sari Motor Screenboat carrying 73 passengers including the crew sank several hours while traveling from Sapudi Island, Sumenep Regency, Madura, to Kalbut Harbor, Situbondo, East Java, Sunday (8/12) afternoon.
It is not yet known for certain the cause of the sinking of KLM Lorena Sari, but it is strongly suspected that the wooden ship had a leak in the hull until it sank.

Luckily, the passenger of the wooden ship was evacuated by the Pertamina Berlian Selatan ship which happened to pass at the location where the wooden ship sank.
From observations, at 18:30 WIB, a number of ambulances began evacuating dozens of passengers on the wooden ship from the Berlian Nusantara Motorboat at the Feri Janger Port.
