Jordan Closes The Only Border To Syria

JAKARTA Jordan closed the only border crossing passengers and commercial to Syria.

Syrian military sources told Reuters armed groups had opened fire on Syria's Nassib border crossing Jordan.

The armed group that infiltrated the crossing attacked the Syrian army post stationed there, continued the source, Friday, December 6.

He said dozens of trailers and passengers were now abandoned near the scene.

Jordan's Interior Minister said Jordanians and Jordanian trucks would be allowed back via the crossing, known as the Jaber crossing on the Jordan side, while no one was allowed to cross into Syria.

The latest news is that Syrian rebels seized two cities on the road from Hama to Homs. Previously, the rebels first occupied Aleppo and Hama/Hamat.

Military Operations Command, a newly formed coalition that launched its attack last week, said it had established control over the cities of Talbiseh and Al-Rastan in the northern countryside of Homs.

The video, which is geolocated by CNN, shows rebel fighters have entered Rastan and Talbiseh, both located on the main M5 highway from Hama to Homs. Talbiseh is only 10 kilometers (6 miles) from Homs.

In the video, fighters are seen driving on a roundabout in Talbiseh, getting out of the vehicle and firing his gun into the air as a celebration.
