Open Ducati Receives Jorge Martin

JAKARTA Ducati is very open to accepting their former racer, Jorge Martin, back to the team after this year's separation which surprised many quite a bit.

Ducati CEO, Claudio Domenicali, ensured that their relationship with the Spaniard was very good so that the opportunity for a reunion was open.

"We love Martin. We separated well and who knows what will happen in two years."

"He's back in Ducati? Why not? He's a tough rider and we're looking for a tough rider," he said at the Campioni in Festa event on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, at Bologna, as quoted by Crash.

Martin was initially given the green light by Ducati that he would be promoted from Pramac to join Francesco Bagnaia in the Factory team in the 2025 season.

However, Ducati later changed his decision and recruited Marc Marquez after the six-time world champion refused to move from Gresini to Pramac to replace Martin.

Jorge Martin, who did not get a place, finally decided to join Aprilia. All of these decisions were made when Martin had not confirmed himself to become world champion in the 2024 season.

However, the opportunity to return to work together could happen in the future. Martin at the same event also discussed the possibility.

"I can only thank Ducati. Maybe, in the future, we can get back together," he said.

Martin successfully emerged as the 2024 MotoGP world champion after going through competition with defending champion Bagnaia to the final series that took place at Barcelona.

This success made Martin also make history as the first driver of an independent team to win the world championship in this most prestigious motorcycle event in the modern era.
