Regarding The 'Brown Party' Of Cawe-cawe In The Pilkada, PDIP Legislator Yulius Setiarto Will Clarify At The MKD Tomorrow

JAKARTA - Member of the Indonesian House of Representatives from the PDIP faction Yulius Setiarto stated that he was ready to be questioned by the Honorary Court of the House of Representatives (MKD) regarding his remarks that alluded to the "Brown Party".

Yulius said he would clarify his statement reported to the MKD by Ali Hakim Lubis, on Tuesday, December 3, tomorrow. Yulius was reported for spreading hoaxes regarding the involvement of a brown party aka police in the 2024 Pilkada.

"Ready, ready (to provide clarification, ed). As far as I know, the report against me in the MKD is about my post on Tiktok on November 25 yesterday. If I consider this a reasonable mechanism, and I am the reported in this context, I still have the principle that what I broadcast is like that. And I will keep it in court tomorrow. I will give an explanation at tomorrow's trial, (30)," said Yulius to reporters, Monday, December 2.

The legislator for the Banten electoral district did not feel that his statement about a fight or a brown party was a hoax and violated the code of ethics. He said his statement only summarized a podcast chat that was broadcast by one of the media, which alluded to the caye-cawe chocolate party in the regional elections.

"Oh no. No, it's like this now. If the friends follow from the beginning to the end of my post, the most important thing is what to see there. I didn't express any opinions there. I just said, eh, there is news from a leaked podcast like this. It's a long show that leaks alus. So what I do is a parafrase, so it's short. The essence of a leaked podcast is like this, right? Then I ask the police whether this clarification is true or not. Because if there is no clear clarification, the problem will drag on like that, "he explained.

Yulius said that he actually questioned and hoped that the chocolate party or the police would clarify the allegation so that there would be no misunderstanding.

"Yes, I am. After all, there are three members of the National Police. My younger brother is the police. My grandfather is the police. There is no way I will commit baseless slander or accusations. What I want is clarification so that there is a firmness from government officials, in this case the National Police, about news milling like that. That's the first thing," said Yulius.

"Secondly, even if it is my own opinion, it is a political opinion based on all the existing news, that's it. So this is not a slander if for example there is no basis," he continued.

According to him, it would be unethical for him to curse and mention that the police took part in the regional elections. Moreover, it is called a strong statement.

"Yes, everyone has different styles of expression. So it's no worry about this MKD report," he said.

Yulius emphasized that his statement did not mention the police girl in the regional elections but commented on a video of a 'bocor alus' podcast.

"Yes, yes. If you want to ask about evidence of negligence in the police institution in the regional elections yesterday, not my territory. My area is a political area. There is one report on the political area, there is news from a media that I can already talk about. That I can already argue. That is the constitutional right as a member of the DPR and there is immunity," he concluded.
