PVMBG Asks To Empty 22 Houses In Wargansari Cianjur Village Prone To Land Movement
The Center for Volcanology and Geological Hazard Mitigation (PVMBG) asked 22 houses in Wargansari Village, Kadupandak District, Cianjur, to be vacated.
This request follows that the movement of land continues to expand and deepen so that it can threaten the safety of residents. This is based on research by West Java (West Java) PVMBG officers in a number of land movement locations.
"The result is that houses that are included in the red zone cannot be re-inhabited, because land movement continues so that 22 of them must be vacated because they are prone to collapse," said Kadupandak District Secretary Mumuh Parhamubin when contacted Monday, December 2, confiscated by Antara.
In fact, his party has coordinated with the village to immediately prepare land for relocation, which is likely to increase according to the results of PVMBG research because landslides and landslides are still happening.
Especially during the last few days, the rainfall that has fallen is still high, he said, so that the movement of the soil continues to expand and grow deeper. Even at a number of points in Wargansari Village, ground movement caused inter-village roads and irrigation canals to be damaged.
"We have also asked residents in threatened areas to be alert and evacuate immediately if it rains heavily until evening, because the PVMBG predictions for further landslides and ground movement can spread as it rains," he said.

His party noted that during the Disaster Emergency Response (TDB) around 27 heads of families (KK) with 72 people took refuge in the village hall, while the remaining 130 people fled to their relatives' houses which were considered safe even though they were in danger.
During the evacuation, joint officers consist of BPBD, TNI/Polri, Social Service, Retana, PMI Cianjur, and other volunteers, providing various humanitarian services ranging from public kitchens, health services, logistics distribution, and other assistance.
"We are still waiting for the results of studies and research in Sukaraja Village which also experienced the same thing, so that coordination with the village continues to be improved to prepare land for relocation," he said.
