814 Disasters In Bogor City Throughout 2024: 8 Died, Thousands Of Affected Residents
BOGOR A total of 814 natural and non-natural disasters hit Bogor City from January to November 2024. This disaster resulted in eight deaths, dozens of injuries, and thousands of people being affected.
Head of the Bogor City Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), Hidayatulloh, revealed that the disaster incident was dominated by landslides as many as 287 incidents and fallen trees with 190 incidents.
"In addition, there were 179 incidents of collapsed buildings, 62 strong winds, 41 fires, 35 floods, 9 animal evacuations, 4 droughts, 3 SARs, and 1 others," Hidayatulloh said in his report, Monday, December 2, 2024.
A total of 1,395 families or 4,674 people were victims of the disaster. Of these: - 40 people suffered minor injuries, - 17 serious injuries, and - 8 people died.
In addition to casualties, hundreds of houses and buildings were damaged: - 205 houses were slightly damaged, - 182 were moderately damaged, and - 123 were heavily damaged.
"The damage to infrastructure and community buildings is very significant. BPBD continues to strive to carry out handling and recovery by coordinating together across sectors," added Hidayatulloh.
Bogor City BPBD appealed to the public to increase vigilance, especially against the threat of landslides that often occur in hilly areas. The high intensity of rain in the area also adds to the risk of disasters.
