KAI Ensures 2024 Christmas Transportation And 2025 New Year Are Safe And Comfortable

JAKARTA - PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) ensures that the 2024 Christmas and New Year 2025 transportation services take place safely, comfortably, and smoothly, by prioritizing passenger safety and improving the quality of train operations.

"KAI is committed to providing excellent service and providing safe, comfortable, and sustainable transportation," said KAI President Commissioner Said Aqil Siroj in a statement quoted by Antara in Jakarta, Sunday.

Said conveyed this after receiving a working visit from Commission VI of the DPR RI to the Tegalluar High Speed Train Station, in the context of reviewing the readiness of the land transportation sector ahead of the 2024 Christmas and 2025 New Year holidays.

According to Said, the importance of collaboration between all parties, including Commission VI of the DPR RI in supporting the progress of mass transportation.

Meanwhile, KAI President Director Didiek Hartantyo conveyed various strategic steps to ensure the smooth running and security of Christmas and New Year's transportation which lasted for 18 days, from 19 December 2024 to 5 January 2025.

KAI will carry out a ramp check with the Directorate General of Railways (DJKA) of the Ministry of Transportation to ensure the completeness of Minimum Service Standards (SPM).

KAI will also conduct inspections ahead of Christmas and New Year 2024/2025, integrated posts in all operational areas to monitor and ensure smooth operation.

Didiek said, KAI will also deploy standby materials and additional personnel at vulnerable points to anticipate disturbances in facilities and infrastructure, increase track supervision, security patrols, as well as security at stations and along railway lines.

The key to the success of railway transportation is connectivity and integration. So that collaboration of all parties is needed so that railways in Indonesia will continue to develop and progress," said Didiek.

Meanwhile, Chairman of Commission VI of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Anggia Erma Rini, said that his visit was a momentum to ensure public transportation services could run optimally during the holiday period.

He also appreciated the role of KAI Group in supporting community mobility.

The role of KAI and KCIC in smoothing community mobilization is very real. This can be seen from the high number of passengers, especially during the simultaneous regional elections on November 27, 2024, with KAI serving around 35,000 Passengers and KCIC serving 8,000 Passengers," said Anggia.
