Good News! PLN Guarantees Electricity Supply In Jakarta Is Safe During Ramadan
JAKARTA - Ahead of the fasting month of Ramadan in 2021 or 1442 Hijr, State Electricity Company (PLN) Main Distribution Unit of Greater Jakarta ensures the electricity supply remains safe. A total of 2371 personnel were alerted, along with electrical equipment and the team.
General Manager of State Electricity Company (PLN) Main Distribution Unit of Greater Jakarta, Doddy B. Pangaribuan said that electricity in Jakarta is still sufficient to see the peak load that has been achieved in Jakarta as well as the peak load during Ramadan last year.
Doddy said Jakarta is supplied from 6 electrical subsystems with a total capacity of 10,315 Mega Watts (MW) which is channeled through 59 substations of 150-kilo Volts (kV) and 20 kV. The peak electricity load ever achieved is 4,938 MW by 2020. Meanwhile, the peak electricity load during Ramadan in 2020 then during the day is 3,814 MW and the night is 3,680 MW.
Furthermore, Doddy said the standby electricity supply at State Electricity Company (PLN) Main Distribution Unit of Greater Jakarta is supported by the power of 2371 standby personnel, 16 Standby Posts, 6 units of detection cars, 17 units of mobile substations, 4 units of mobile cables, 6 units of Uninterruptable Power Supply (UPS), and 20 units of State Electricity Company (PLN) Power Bank.

Doddy said that in addition to the mosques used for worship during Ramadan, hospitals, and infrastructure supporting the recovery of COVID-19 also remain the main monitor.
