Fitri Carlina Hopes The Struggle For Better Music Royalties Continues

JAKARTA - The singer Fitri Carlina also supports the efforts of many Indonesian musicians who are fighting for the music royalties system in Indonesia to run better.

As is known, dangdut is a great realm of music in Indonesia. However, dangdut music actors rarely express their opinion regarding royalty issues.

In this case, Fitri said that music royalties should be collected and distributed properly by agencies appointed by law.

"If it's a royalty issue, so far there are already separate agencies," said Fitri Carlina when met in Senayan, Central Jakarta, Friday, November 29.

He considered it good, when many musicians cared more about royalty problems, including in the realm of dangdut. He believes the struggle of fellow musicians today will produce a better music ecosystem.

"Indeed, all this time, (the issue of royalties) is what we always concern. If I look at the many musicians who are aware, I think in the future it will be better," he said.

However, Fitri has high hopes that the struggle of her colleagues will not stop, until the ecosystem that is expected to be better can be realized.

"It's just that this doesn't stop here, it must continue to be fought for," he added.

For information, the revision of the Copyright Law has been declared included in the 2025 Priority National Legislation Program (Prolegnas).

Of the many problems, one of the most highlighted is the transparency of the collection and distribution of music royalties, as well as the smallness of royalties obtained from digital music platforms for Indonesian musicians.
