AC Ventures And PwC Indonesia Launch Cyber Security Guides
JAKARTA AC Ventures, a venture capital company, partnered with PwC Indonesia in launching cybersecurity guidelines. This guide was released under the title Cybersecurity Playbook for Startups.
This guide is designed to help entrepreneurs and encourage businesses to continue to grow. According to AC Ventures, this guide is also important because cyber defense for businesses must be designed very strongly in today's era of digitalization.
The reason is, cyber threats are also developing and increasingly sophisticated thanks to the Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI), cloud, and quantum computing technology. When secret data is leaked due to cyber attacks, the company is considered to have violated the data.
"Along with the increase in data violations that are more expensive, organizations need to pay more attention to cyber resilience and include this initiative in their main strategy," said Chief Digital and Technology Officer at PwC Indonesia, Subianto.
If a data breach occurs, the company will suffer a loss of up to USD 1 million (IDR 15 billion). This problem has increased by 27 percent last year so that surveillance in the cloud, hack-and-leack, ransomware, and others is urgently needed.
Unfortunately, companies in Indonesia have not paid close attention to this issue. In fact, according to AC Ventures' findings, only 27 percent of companies are actively preventing cybersecurity risks.
"In Indonesia, only 27 percent of organizations routinely anticipate future cyber risks, and only 15 percent allocate their cyber budget to deal with risks," added Subianto.
That way, AC Ventures releases a joint guide to address the company's lack of knowledge in preventing cyberattacks. This guide includes practical topics such as understanding cyber threats and establishing basic principles of cybersecurity.
This guide also emphasizes the importance of the principles of Confidentiality, Integrity, and Availability (CIA) to assist the management team in maintaining their information assets. AC Ventures believes this guide can reduce the impact of cyber incidents.
