Riau Police Shoots Courier Of 30 Kilograms Of Shabu In Pekanbaru
The Riau Police Opsnal Team shot MY (45) suspect and arrested MD (41) as a 30 kg methamphetamine courier supplied from Malaysia, the two suspects being Bengkalis Regency residents.
"One of the suspects was shot in his right calf and ankle for trying to escape when he was about to be arrested," said Director of Drug Investigation at the Riau Police, Kombes Manang Soebeti, as reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, November 26.
According to him, the suspect's actions were exposed based on information from the public regarding a planned large drug transaction in Pekanbaru. Furthermore, the police team conducted monitoring on Sunday (24/11) night to find a suspicious four-wheeled vehicle.
The Opsnal team examined the vehicle and found 30 large plastic packs containing white crystals (suspected methamphetamine) in a cardboard box in the trunk of the car.

Officers tracked down the car owner and the two suspects were staying in one of the hotel rooms, but MY intended to run away but was shot by officers.
"The suspect acted as a courier and was promised a salary of Rp. 30 million to bring methamphetamine from the Pakning River, Bengkalis to Pekanbaru," he said.
The suspect is threatened with criminal sanctions under Article 114 paragraph 1 and Article 112 paragraph (2) of the Republic of Indonesia Law No. 35 of 2009 concerning narcotics with a minimum penalty of 6 years.
