Various Indonesian Ornamental Plants Ready To Arrive The World At The International FLOII Expo 2024

JAKARTA The largest international-scale ornamental plant exhibition in Indonesia, Floriculture Indonesia International Expo (FLOII) 2024, will soon be held for the third time. This event will take place on December 5'8, 2024 at Hall 3 ICE BSD, Tangerang.

With the theme Evolutionary & Revolutionary Elegance: The Beauty of Genetic Diversity in Floriculture, FLOII 2024 will display the uniqueness and great potential genetic diversity of Indonesian ornamental plants.

This theme was chosen to underline the importance of innovation through genetic mutations that create varieties of highly valued ornamental plants. FLOII Expo 2024 is designed to increase understanding of Indonesia's floricultural potential while encouraging innovation in the ornamental plant industry.

President Director of Dyandra Event Solutions, Michael Bayu A. Sumarijanto, stated that Indonesia's natural wealth has great potential to bring Indonesian ornamental plants to the world stage.

He emphasized that the FLOII Expo 2024 is not just an exhibition, but an important momentum to strengthen Indonesia's position as one of the leaders of the global ornamental plant industry.

"With abundant wealth of biodiversity, Indonesia has a great opportunity to become a pioneer of genetic innovation in the world of ornamental plants. Through FLOII, we want to show that Indonesian ornamental plants have extraordinary beauty, competitiveness, and economic value," he said.

Chairman of the Florikultura Group of the Ministry of Agriculture, Armilawaty Razak, added that the ornamental plant industry in Indonesia is growing rapidly with an average annual growth of 21.8 percent, based on data from the Ministry of Agriculture.

FLOII Expo, according to him, is a strategic platform to bring together business actors, plant fans, and the general public in an integrated educational and promotional platform.

"Through this exhibition, we hope that the public will be more aware of the importance of biodiversity in ornamental plants while at the same time obtaining the latest information about trends and innovations in this industry," said Armilaway.

FLOII 2024 presents various interesting activities designed to provide educational and entertaining experiences. One of the flagship programs is the Ornamental Plant Contest with a total prize of more than Rp. 200 million.

The competition includes five categories of favorite plants, namely Aroid, Platycerium, Sansevieria, Aglaonema, and Cactus, as well as additional categories for mutation ornamental plants. With 25 classes contested, the contest promises stiff competition and new inspiration for ornamental plant collectors.

In addition, this event also presents Ornamental Plant Auctions, an exclusive opportunity to get a rare collection of high value. Not to forget, there will be Talkshows and Workshops with national and international ornamental plant experts who provide insight into cultivation, care, and recent trends.

One of the main highlights is the Launch of Mutation Plants, where new varieties with extraordinary aesthetic appeal will be introduced. Visitors can also take part in Plant Stories Challenge, a creative content competition on Instagram with prizes of millions of rupiah.

FLOII Expo 2024 also presents exhibitions from various countries such as Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, Taiwan, Ecuador, to the United States. They will showcase the latest superior products and innovations that reflect the wealth and diversity of the world of global ornamental plants.

As a warm-up to the peak of the event, on September 27, 2024, a pre-event was held titled Variegata & Kita in Godong Ijo, Depok. This event attracted more than 1,000 visitors and showed people's high enthusiasm for the beauty of ornamental plants.
