IPhone 17 Slim Won't Have A Telephoto Camera, Stays A Pro Feature

JAKARTA The latest rumors reveal that the iPhone 17 Slim, one of the variants of the iPhone 2025 line, will not be equipped with a telephoto camera. This feature is likely to still be exclusive to the Pro model in the next generation of the iPhone 17.

The report from TheElec explains that LG Innotek has invested 375.9 billion won (equivalent to Rp4.2 trillion) for the development of new camera module facilities. The module is expected to be used for iPhone 17, focusing on improving camera specifications. However, telephoto cameras with folding zoom technology will only be available on two Pro models.

The Slim iPhone 17 is believed to come with two camera lenses on the non-Pro model: an ultra-wide lens and a wide standard lens. However, as rumors say Slim's iPhone 17 will have a very thin design of only 6 mm thickness, it's possible this device will only be equipped with one main camera.

Apple can use software tricks to provide zoom effects without adding additional cameras. By leveraging a high-resolution wide-angle lens to crop 2x zoom, Apple can provide an experience as if the device has two cameras.
