North Korea's Technical Advisor And Troops Reportedly Arrived In Mariupol, Wearing Russian Uniforms

JAKARTA - North Korea's technical advisers and a number of troops arrived at the Russian port city of Mariupol. North Korea was previously reported to have deployed troops to Kursk, Russia, which South Korea called to help fight the Ukrainian army.

The purpose of their visit is unclear, said a security source for Ukraine. They came wearing Russian uniforms.

Reported by CNN, Friday, November 22, North Korean troops in Mariupol remain separate from the Russian units they support. Meanwhile, other foreign fighters in Russian forces joined the units.

The source also said Ukraine's recent missile strike in Russia targeted a senior North Korean general, but it remains unclear whether its commander was killed.

It was previously estimated that 11,000 North Korean troops were deployed to the Kursk region in Russia, where Ukraine took control of the region after a sudden summer counter-attack.
