TBRC Survey: Tonny Uloli-Marten Taha Unggul Pair In Gorontalo Gubernatorial Election

JAKARTA - Timur Barat Research Center (TBRC) released the results of a survey related to the 2024 Gorontalo Pilkada ahead of voting day on November 27.

As a result, the Cagub and Cawagub pair number 1, Tonny Uloli-Marten Taha, excel with the highest electability in various survey simulations.

TBRC Executive Director Johanes Romeo explained that in the simulation of open questions, the Tonny Uloli-Marten Taha pair won the highest support of 40.7 percent. In second place, there is the Gusnar Ismail-Ida Syaidah pair with 20.2 percent, followed by Nelson Pomalingo-Kris Wartabone at 17.2 percent.

Meanwhile, Hamzah Isa-Abdurahman Bahmid won 2.8 percent electability. And 19.1 percent of respondents did not provide answers.

"In a closed question, the results were slightly different, Tonny Uloli-Marten Taha won 44.1 percent, Gusnar Ismail-Ida Syaidah 24.6 percent, Nelson Pomalingo-Kris Wartabone 20.1 percent, Hamzah Isa-Abdurahman Bahmid 3.9 percent, and those who did not vote 7.3 percent," Johanes said in his statement, Thursday, November 21.

In the simulation using 1,480 ballots, Johanes continued, it also shows the superiority of the Tonny Uloli-Marten Taha pair with 677 votes or 45.8 percent. Followed by Gusnar Ismail-Ida Syaidah with 356 votes or 24.1 percent.

"Then Nelson Pomalingo-Kris Wartabone 293 votes or 19.8 percent, and Hamzah Isa-Abdurahman Bahmid 43 votes or 3.3 percent. A total of 111 ballots were not used," said Johanes.

In addition, the TBRC survey also measured the determination of the respondents' choice. The result shows that the Tonny Uloli-Marten Taha pair has the highest strong voter.

"Tonny Uloli-Marten Taha 88.1 percent of voters are steady, 11.9 percent are swing voters," said Johanes.

"Then Gusnar Ismail-Ida Syaidah 70.7 percent of voters are steady, 29.3 percent are swing voters.Nelson Pomalingo-Kris Wartabone 76.4 percent. voters are steady, 23.4 percent are swing voters. Hamzah Isa-Abdurahman Bahmid 72.8 percent are steady voters, 27.2 percent are swing voters," he continued.

Through the results of this survey, Johanes assessed that the Tonny Uloli-Marten Taha pair was in a strong position to win the Gorontalo gubernatorial election.

"However, the political dynamics until the day of voting can still change this result," he said.

The TBRC survey entitled 'Strengthening the Strength of 4 Paslon Pilgub Gorontalo' was conducted on 8-18 November 2024 involving 1,480 respondents from five districts and one city in Gorontalo Province. Meanwhile, the survey margin of error is up to 2.5 percent and the confidence level is 95 percent.
