Russia Claims To Shoot Down Storm Shadow Missile

JAKARTA - Russian air defenses claim to have shot down two Storm Shadow cruise missiles. The British-made missile was fired by the Ukrainian military.

The air defenses shot down two British Storm Shadow cruise missiles, six US-produced HIMARS rockets, and 67 aircraft-type unmanned aerial vehicles, the Russian defense ministry said.

Ukraine reported for the first time firing a Storm Shadow long-range missile at Russian territory.

This information was reported by Bloomberg on Wednesday, November 20, citing an unnamed Western official.

The spokesman for the British Prime Minister, Keir Starmer, said his office would not comment on reports or operational issues.

Britain previously said Ukraine could use the Storm Shadow cruise missile in Ukrainian territory.

But the Ukrainian government pressured the United States to seek permission for the missile to be used to strike targets in Russian territory for several months.

US President Joe Biden previously changed his policy to allow Ukraine to use US-made weapons to strike deep into Russia this week.
