Without Goals And One Point In Two Matches, PSIM Yogyakarta's Bad Beginning In League 2
SUBANG - The bad start of PSIM Yogyakarta when entering the second round of Liga 2 2024/2025. PSIM was only able to get one point in the first two matches after losing 1-0 against Persikas Subang at Persikas Stadium, Subang, Wednesday, November 20, 2024.
The difference in PSIM's performance when closing the first round and then starting the second round of the League 2 competition. When ending the first round, PSIM scored a victory hat trick. The impressive success brought PSIM to appear as the winner of Group 2 when the first round was over.
This beautiful appearance made PSIM more confident when starting the second round by facing Adhyaksa FC and Persikas. How not, both teams became the months of Laskar Mataram in the first meeting. PSIM won 3-0 over Adhyaksa FC. Meanwhile, when they host Persikas, Seto Nurdiyantoro's team won 5-0.
This makes PSIM look confident. But Seto has already offered his players not to underestimate each opponent. Moreover, they played at home. And, it turns out that Adhyaksa FC was able to steal points after holding back a 0-0 draw at home to PSIM.
In the next away match in Subang, PSIM even lost points after losing 1-0 against Persikas. Ironically, PSIM was able to master the game and put a lot of pressure on it. The same condition occurred when PSIM served Adhyaksa FC in Sriwedari.
However, the final result of the two matches did not match the expectations. Even in the match against Persikas, the PSIM goal was broken by Muhammad Isa in the 89th minute.
Bad results by waiting for one point from the first two matches made PSIM have to postpone its desire to return to the top of the standings. The PSIM stuck in third place still has 18 points. They are still three points adrift of Bhayangkara FC who occupies the top position. Meanwhile, Persijap Jepara took second place after getting 19 points.
Persikas sendiri akhirnya bisa meraih kemenangan pertama selama mengikuti kompetisi. Kini, mereka mendedai poin empat dan masih menghuni dasar klasemen.
According to Seto, it is not only the technical problem in PSIM that makes them fail to get full points. But also the field conditions and the match gap are short so players don't have time to recover.
After facing Adhyaksa FC, Saturday, November 16, 2024, they have already played away against Persikas. Even the team has left for Subang on Tuesday, November 19, 2024.
"We see the performance of players under performance. In fact, almost all players are not in the best game. They may face a fitness problem because the distance between matches is too close. Moreover, we are doing road roads," said Seto.
But Seto admitted the players were too confident in the match. They played in a hurry and wanted to win quickly.
"This then backfired on us. In addition, the field factor did affect the performance of the players. But what is certain is that the players are too confident. When they get an attack counter, we are not even ready to anticipate it," he said.

In the previous match against Adhyaksa FC, Seto questioned the weather changes which turned out to make players not focus and lose points.
"We have to do an evaluation. This is a lesson for us. I can't blame the players because they have tried and want to win," said Seto.
Despite failing to achieve the target, Seto is optimistic that PSIM can survive in the top three. Moreover, in the following match they acted as hosts by hosting Nusantara United.
