US Defense Minister: Putin Failed To Achieve Any Goals In 1,000 Days Of War In Ukraine

JAKARTA - US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin said Russian President Vladimir Putin had failed to achieve any strategic goals in more than 1,000 days of war in Ukraine.

Europe's largest military invaded its neighboring country, which has a much smaller supply, much less capabilities and 1,000 days later they have not succeeded, Austin told reporters in Laos reported by CNN, Wednesday, November 20.

"This war has been going on for 1,000 days, and Putin in each case has failed to achieve any strategic goals," he said.

Ukraine, called Austin, shows the world of small countries are able to defend their sovereign territory if its people are committed and have the resources needed to do so.

Some aggressors in the world have realized that this is not as easy as imagined, and there are consequences to pay for this. I can guarantee you that autocrats around the world are paying attention to this and doing inventory," Austin continued.

Although Russia failed to achieve Putin's initial goal of capturing Ukraine within days, Russian military operations have achieved several of its goals.

About a fifth of Ukraine is currently under Russian control according to the Institute for the Study of War.

Russia has more weapons, ammunition, and human resources, and Putin's strategy seems to slowly destroy Ukraine by using weapons and spending more money while weakening western allies Kyiv.
