Samsung Galaxy S25 Equipped With 120fps Gaming Technology Thanks To Qualcomm Interpolation Frame Innovation
JAKARTA - Samsung is rumored to be bringing the mobile gaming experience to a new level with the Galaxy S25 series which is rumored to be presenting frame interpolation technology for smoother 120fps gameplay. According to Jukanlosreve tipster, this flagship series has the potential to adopt Qualcomm's AFME 2.0 (Adreno Frame Motion Engine) technology, which allows games with a 60fps frame to be changed to a more fluid 120fps. If this is realized, the Galaxy S25 could be a leading choice for gamers when launched in 2025.
Qualcomm's AFME 2.0 technology is actually nothing new, as it has been introduced since 2021 and refined during last year's Snapdragon Summit. However, its implementation in the Galaxy S25 series will be a new breakthrough for Samsung's flagship line. Unlike the iQOO approach that uses a dedicated chip for frame interpolation, Qualcomm's AFME 2.0 technology works directly on GPUs without interference with external chips or CPUs.
This approach is expected to optimize power consumption and reduce load on devices, so that the Galaxy S25 is able to maintain smoother gameplay while maintaining battery performance and good heat management. Unlike interpolation technology on PCs that focuses more on visual fidelity, implementation on mobile devices aims to achieve a balance between performance and efficiency.

Recent rumors say that all the Galaxy S25 models may be using the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, which supports AFME 2.0, but there is still speculation regarding the distribution of chipsets across this line. The Galaxy S25 Ultra is likely to be the only model exclusively using Snapdragon (as well as this gaming technology), while basic and Plus models may keep using the Exynos 2500 processor or Dimensity 9400. This could affect the extent to which an increase in Samsung gaming experience is felt across this series.
Another report states an increase in RAM capacity without price increases, which can further support multitasking and gaming performance. If true, this change will make the Galaxy S25 series a balanced combination of strength, efficiency, and affordability.
The implementation of the frame interpolation technology by Samsung can also trigger comparisons with the dual-chip solution of iQOO, which has proven to be effective in improving gameplay. How Qualcomm's GPU-based approach will compete is worth the wait.
