The Voice Of The Rumbling Eruption Of Mount Ibu Sounded Strong

TERNATE - Ibu's Volcano Observation Post (PGA) in West Halmahera Regency, North Maluku said the roar of the mountain experiencing an eruption at around 11.03 WIT was quite strong, and was even heard reaching the PGA post.

"The distance between Mount Ibu and PGA is approximately 8, 9 kilometers, but during the eruption there was a strong roar," said the officer of the Mother's Volcano Observation Post at West Halmahera, Axl Roeroe, as reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, November 19.

The eruption of Mount Ibu by removing the column of ash as high as 700 meters above the peak and observed it to be white to gray with thick intensity leaning towards the Southwest.

He said this eruption was recorded on a seismogram with a maximum amplitude of 28 mm and a duration of about 47 seconds in PGA located in Gam Ici Village, Ibu District.

"Currently, the condition of the volcano as high as 1,325 meters above sea level is still Level III or Alert," he said.

Communities around Mount Ibu and visitors or tourists are asked not to move within a 4 km radius and to expand sectorally 5 km to the crater opening in the northern part of the active crater of the mountain.

"If ash rains, people who are active outside the home are advised to wear masks and glasses to avoid exposure to the mountain ash," he said.

In addition, he said, all parties to maintain conditions and atmospheres in the community, not to spread false narratives (hoaxes), and not to be provoked by unclear issues, the public should always follow directions from local governments.
