Jokowi: Jakarta's Problems Are Congested, Floods, Slum Areas And Pollution
JAKARTA - The 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo (Jokowi) said that there were four core problems in the Jakarta Province so that the solution had to be quickly and completely completed by the governor who was elected in the 2024 Pilkada.
Jokowi revealed that the first problem that must be resolved is the congestion experienced by Jakarta residents.
"It has begun to be reduced by the construction of MRT, LRT, airport trains, high-speed trains, and just finishing the next construction related to other major MRT so that later all residents of Jakarta will use mass transportation," Jokowi said as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, November 18.
Jokowi said that the second problem that must be resolved is the floods that hit the city.
According to Jokowi, the problem can be solved by normalizing all areas of the Ciliwung River so that it is not enough for only 16 kilometers.
If it is done thoroughly with many collaborations, according to the former Governor of DKI Jakarta, the river normalization can be completed within 2 years.
The third problem, continued Jokowi, is spatial planning. This is called complicated related to slum areas as well as green open spaces.
The Governor of Jakarta for the 2012 period, 2014, said that the next problem was related to handling air pollution.
Based on the air quality index, Jakarta is hit by poor air pollution, which is very detrimental to the health of its citizens.
All these problems, according to Jokowi, can be resolved by choosing a leader who understands and has a solution to solve this.
Therefore, Jokowi emphasized, it is important for Jakarta residents to choose the right leader according to the track record and experience needed to solve the four core problems.
