Apple Prepares Variable Apertur Lens Camera For IPhone 18 Pro In 2026
JAKARTA - Apple is predicted to bring major innovations to the iPhone 18 Pro line which is scheduled to launch in 2026. Based on a recent report from well-known technology analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the iPhone 18 Pro will be equipped with a master camera with variable apertur lens technology, which first comes in the history of iPhone devices.
This technology allows camera lenses to adjust the size of the opening physically, so as to control the amount of light that enters the camera sensor. With this feature, users can take better quality images in minimal light conditions, while increasing control over the depth of field effects. This is similar to today's digital DSLR cameras.
Not only superior in night photography, this camera also offers better flexibility in various lighting conditions, making it an ideal choice for users who need a versatile camera.
Changes in the iPhone 17 Pro MaxLaporan Line also reveal that Apple will most likely miss this technology on the iPhone 17 Pro Max which is slated for release in 2025. Initially, The Information media stated that at least one iPhone 17 model would be equipped with a variable apertur lens. However, Apple seems to choose to delay this innovation until more mature testing is done, in order to ensure an optimal user experience.
Apple is known to be careful in adopting new technologies. Prior to making major changes to hardware, the Cupertino-based company ensured that the technology had met high quality standards.

According to Kuo, Apple has collaborated with Sunny Optical as the main supplier to shutter technology, while Largan Precision will be the first provider for variable apertur lensing. Luxshare is also said to be playing an additional supplier.
"One of the big improvements for the iPhone 18 Pro is the main camera lens that uses variable apertur technology, providing a much superior photography experience for users," said Kuo.
This technology is expected not only to improve camera performance, but also to strengthen Apple's position in the premium smartphone market by providing the best photography experience for its users. With the planned launch in 2026, the iPhone 18 Pro has become one of the most anticipated devices in the future.
