The Ministry Of Transportation Forms A Timsus To Monitor Congestion Points For Vehicles During Nataru

Deputy Minister of Transportation (Wamenhub) Suntana stated that the Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) formed a special team to monitor readiness at crucial transportation points ahead of the 2024 Christmas and 2025 New Year holidays.

"Well, we have made a team to come to those spots (points where congestion and buildup often occur)," said Suntana as quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, November 14.

He said that the team was formed in order to ensure the smooth running and safety of people's travel during the holiday period which is often colored by the increase in traffic flow.

The special team will focus on a number of locations that are predicted to experience a surge in vehicle flows, such as the Cikampek toll road and several other locations where traffic jams often occur. Monitoring is carried out so that traffic problems that are often complained about can be anticipated and minimized.

In addition to toll roads, the team also checks ports that usually experience congestion, such as Merak-Bakauheni and Ketapang-Gilimanuk ports. Supervision at this port aims to overcome queue problems and build-up of vehicles that often occur during long holidays.

"The checks were carried out at Merak-Bakauheni Port and then in Ketapang-Gilimanuk and several other points which are estimated based on data every year there are problems with traffic, traffic jams, accidents, buildup and others," he said.

In addition, the Ministry of Transportation has also collaborated with Commission V of the DPR RI which fully supports this monitoring activity.

"We are fully supported by friends from Commission V DPR RI because friends of Commission V DPR RI accompanied us and attended. Together they checked the train, at Bakauheni (Labuhan)," he explained.

Suntana expressed her hope that with intensive monitoring and community support, the implementation of Christmas and New Year's transportation can take place safely and comfortably. He hopes that the public can enjoy the holidays safely without significant obstacles on the transportation route.

Although there have been intensive preparations, the Deputy Minister of Transportation also emphasized the importance of community participation in complying with driving rules. Community participation in obeying traffic safety rules is very important in order to minimize the potential for accidents and obstacles on travel.

"It's just that I really need broad participation from the community. People, please pay more attention to driving rules, safe rules," said the Deputy Minister of Transportation.

Suntana reminded drivers not to ignore safety just because of rush or other urgent reasons.

This attitude can pose a risk to oneself and others on the road, so that people are encouraged to be more responsible.

"So once again, I beg the Indonesian people whom I am proud of, who I love, let's together bring order to traffic rules on the highway," said the Deputy Minister of Transportation.
