Duo Simon & Garfunkel Meet Emotionally During Lunch Together

JAKARTA - After a long fight, Paul Simon (guitar, vocals) and Art Garfunkel (vocals) who are famous through the duo Simon & Garfunkel are known to have had a meeting at a lunch event together.

Garfunkel said the meeting with Simon a few weeks ago was very emotional.

"I looked at Paul and said, 'What happened? Why haven't we met yet?'," said Art Garfunkel, telling the meeting to The Sunday Times recently.

The conversation between the two musicians includes events that occurred in the past. Garfunkel even admitted to crying at the meeting.

"Paul mentioned an old interview where I said a few things. I cried when he said how much I hurt him. Think about it, I think I want to change the image of Simon & Garfunkel as a good man. Did you know? I'm stupid! "

The 83-year-old singer also revealed his plans for Simon to meet again. However, he did not know whether to return to appear on stage together.

'Will Paul bring his guitar? Who knows,' said Garfunkel.

According to him, the most important thing is how his relationship with Simon can go back to going well. He didn't want things to be too late and left regrets.

"For me, it's about the desire to make up for mistakes before it's too late. It feels like we're back in a beautiful place. When I think about it now, tears flow on my cheeks. I can still feel the hug," he said.

For information, Simon and Garfunkel had a volatile friendship, starting with their initial breakup in 1970 following the making of the album "Bridge Over Troubled Water".

They have appeared at the reunion several times since then, the latest at the American Film Institute's 2010 tribute to director Mike Nichols.

In the following years, they mocked each other in the media, with Garfunkel calling Simon an 'idiot' and a hit' in a 2015 interview with the Daily Telegraph. A year later, Simon told NPR that the two would never reunite.
