NTB Police Admits They Have Pocketed Identity But Have Not Stopped The Destroyer Of The PT STM Dompu Mining Facility

The West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Regional Police (Polda) identified the perpetrators of the destruction and burning of buildings to mining facilities owned by PT Sumbawa Timur Mining (STM) operating in Dompu Regency.

"According to the direction of the NTB Police Chief, we have asked all the perpetrators to be identified and we have obtained the data," said Head of the NTB Police Operations Bureau, Senior Commissioner of Abu Bakar Police, Tertusi in Mataram, NTB, Tuesday, November 12, as reported by Antara.

Even though they already have the identities of the perpetrators of the vandalism, he said, the police have not taken legal steps considering that the NTB Police and all ranks are still focusing on securing the 2024 Simultaneous Pilkada stages.

"We are still prioritizing security from the running of this democratic party, focus on social security. When it is finished, then we will determine legal steps, just wait for time," he said.

He did not deny that the vandalism was also part of the police's efforts to maintain security and public order (kamtibmas) during the election momentum.

To ensure that the vandalism allegedly carried out by a handful of residents is no longer repeated, Abu Bakar said that there had been an assignment of personnel to be on standby at the mine site located in Hu'u District, Dompu Regency, which was.

"What is clear is that I have ordered my members to evaluate. I can't say much, because I haven't been to the location yet," he said.

The destruction and burning of buildings and mining facilities of PT STM occurred on Friday, November 1. Buildings belonging to PT STM were damaged by the action, including gates, security posts, Brimob posts, security offices, office security warehouses, containers, and parking areas.
