President Erdogan Wants Israel To Be Isolated From The International World To End Aggression

JAKARTA - President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Monday called on Muslim countries to be the pioneers of the move to stop Israel, assessing the importance of isolation against Israel and ending its aggression while attending the Extraordinary OIC and Arab League Summits in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

President Erdogan warned that Israel plans to destroy the existence of Palestine and eventually annex the entire Palestinian territory with brutal attacks.

"Israel's intense attack on the Gaza Strip and the increasing crackdown on Palestinians in the occupied West Bank is proof that this situation is heading there," President Erdogan said, quoted by the Daily Sabah November 12.

President Erdogan further said the Israeli parliament, which banned the UN aid agency for Palestine, UNRWA, was intended to "removing the two-state solution and prevent the return of Palestinian refugees to their homeland."

"We are looking at the wasting of a two-state solution by seeking the approval of the Israeli government," he said.

The Turkish president also criticized "a handful of Western countries supplying Israel with all forms of support, politics and the military, while the failure of Muslim countries to respond adequately has allowed the situation to reach this point."

"We must maintain our coordinated efforts to suppress action against those committing genocide in Palestine," he exclaimed, stressing dissent between Muslim countries "may not be an obstacle."

"Muslim countries must spearhead the steps they can take to stop Israel," he exclaimed, repeating calls for an arms embargo and halting trade against Israel.

"It is very important for Israel to be isolated in the international arena until its aggression ends," President Erdogan stressed.

He also urged other Muslim countries to follow suit and said Turkey was "ready to carry out all concrete actions that would show a price to be paid by PM Benjamin Netanyahu's government over the continuing occupation of the Palestinian territories."

President Erdogan asked more countries to recognize the Palestinian State, hoping to "see Palestine as a member of the UN Security Council one day."

Separately, a medical source in Gaza told Al Jazeera the Palestinian death toll in the Palestinian enclave since the latest conflict broke out on October 7, 2023, has reached 43,603, while injuries have reached 102,929.
