Apple Vision Pro 2 Planned To Release Between 2025 Fall And 2026 Spring

JAKARTA - In the latest Power On bulletin, Bloomberg's Mark Gurman reports that the second generation of the Apple Vision Pro is expected to launch between the fall of 2025 to spring of 2026. This estimate is in line with previous reports, although slightly less optimistic.

As a reminder, supply chain analyst Ming-Chi Kuo reported last week that Apple had postponed plans for a cheaper version of the Vision headset and would focus on developing the second generation of Apple Vision Pro which will be released next year.

M5 Chip

Apple plans to upgrade Vision Pro 2 from the M2 chip to the upcoming M5 chip, which will provide a significant performance improvement. The first generation Vision Pro was introduced with the M2 chip, but the rapid release of the M3 and M4 chips afterwards made the device for $3,500 this feels a bit outdated. However, this time, Vision Pro 2 will get the M5 chip in conjunction with the first Mac which also uses the M5 chip, so this device should not feel outdated.

According to Bloomberg, Vision Pro 2 is likely to have almost the same design as the first generation, with major changes especially taking place on the inside, including an increase in processors. While Apple continues to develop various ideas for its Vision product line, at least one version of the second generation Vision Pro if released will look almost the same as the current design.

Apple has also just released the Virtual Mac Display option with the Wide and Ultra Wide screen options on Vision 2.2, which has received a lot of positive attention. With the cancellation of plans for more affordable hardware, Apple will clearly rely on interesting software features like this to keep Vision Pro's appeal on the market.

With a focus on internal improvement and software innovation, Apple seems to want to bring a better user experience and maintain Vision Pro's appeal amid increasingly fierce augmented reality technology market competition.
