2 Men Playing Liong Fu Gambling In The Bengkayang Forest Of West Kalimantan Arrested, IDR 1.44 Million Secured

The Bengkayang Police Satreskrim in West Kalimantan (West Kalimantan) arrested two men who were caught playing Liong Fu gambling in the forest area of Sungai Raya Bengkayang District on Sunday, November 10.

"We also confiscated several pieces of evidence from the scene, including one piece of cloth with a Liong Fu picture, one Liong Fu dice, one piece of blue pipe covering the Liong Fu fruit, one pack of cigarettes used as a dice shock mat, and Rp726 thousand in cash found at the scene," said Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of Bengkayang Police, AKP Anuar Syarifudin, Monday, November 11, confiscated by Antara.

Anuar said that his party also secured cash worth Rp. 1.44 million in the suspect's possession at the scene of the incident.

He explained that this arrest stems from public reports related to disturbing gambling activities in the area. Based on the report, officers immediately conducted an investigation until they found a gambling location in the hut.

"The two perpetrators were arrested at the location along with a number of evidences that were successfully secured to undergo further examination in accordance with the applicable legal process," he said.

The police stated that the two perpetrators would be charged with Article 303 Paragraph (1) of the Criminal Code concerning the Crime of Gambling, which regulates sanctions for anyone involved in gambling activities. Currently, the case is still in the development stage to ensure the involvement of other parties.

The Bengkayang Police appealed to the public to always report suspicious activities in their environment. Public involvement is very important in supporting the efforts of the police to maintain security and order, as well as eradicating all forms of gambling practices in the jurisdiction of the Bengkayang Police.

"We are committed to taking firm action against all forms of gambling operating in the Bengkayang Regency area. We also invite the public to proactively report any suspicious activities related to gambling to be followed up legally," he said.
