Coordinating Minister For Political, Legal And Security Affairs Benahi Kompolnas: There Needs To Be Strengthening In Complain Management
Coordinating Minister for Political and Security Affairs (Menko Polkam) Budi Gunawan ensured that there was an improvement in the organization and modernization within the National Police Commission (Kompolnas) of the Republic of Indonesia in order to strengthen institutions so that they could oversee the work of the Police even better.
This was conveyed by the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs when chairing the inaugural meeting of Kompolnas for the period 2024'2028 at the Office of the Coordinating Ministry for Political, Legal and Security Affairs, Jakarta, Monday 11 November.
"The complaints received by Kompolnas are currently very large, overloaded, so there needs to be reinforcement in the management of complaints that have been upgraded with this modernization so that trust (trust to the Police, ed.) is built," said the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs after the meeting, confiscated by Antara.
At the same location, Budi Gunawan plans to develop a public complaint system (dumas) Kompolnas.
The Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs, who is also the Chairman of the Indonesian National Police, sees the need to improve the organizational structure.
"There are still many minimal and limited facilities and infrastructure, so it needs strengthening and addition, be it facilities in the infrastructure sector, in the field of budgeting, or others," he said.
In his presentation after the consolidation meeting, the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs explained that the improvement of the National Police Commission organization was to support President Prabowo Subianto's priority programs.
"The President's priority program is supervision (Polri) on aspects of eradicating online gambling, then corruption, smuggling, cyber cases, drugs, and simultaneous regional elections," said the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs.

From the results of the inaugural meeting, Budi Gunawan hopes that in the future Kompolnas will have stronger equipment in supervising the work of the police so that the level of public trust in the Police increases.
"We hope that all of us from Kompolnas, by strengthening the external aspect of supervision, the National Police will be more professional and more loved by the community in the future," said Budi Gunawan.
The inaugural consolidation meeting of Kompolnas led by Budi Gunawan at the Office of the Coordinating Ministry for Political, Legal and Security Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia today was attended by a number of members of Kompolnas for the 2024 '2028 period, namely Inspector General Pol. Purn. Arief Wicaksono Sudiutomo, Inspector General Pol. Retired. Ida Oetari Poernamasasih, Supardi Hamid, Gufron, Muhammad Choirul Anam, and Yusuf.
President Prabowo Subianto appointed the leadership and members of the National Police Commission for the period 2024'2028 at the State Palace, Jakarta, on November 5, 2024. The appointment was stipulated in Presidential Decree Number 80/M/2024 concerning the Dismissal and Appointment of Membership of Kompolnas.
