ChatGPT Recovers After Short Disturbance, Sam Altman Remembers
JAKARTA - The popular Chatbot, ChatGPT, which is backed by Microsoft, is back in operation after experiencing disruptions affecting thousands of users, OpenAI confirmed on Friday, November 8.
"The problem with ChatGPT has now been resolved," OpenAI said in a statement on its website. Access has been restored for most users at 4:34 p.m. PT (00.34 GMT on Saturday), with a small percentage of customers still having problems until 5 p.m. (01.00 a.m. on Saturday).
chatgpt went down for 30 mins today :( we are much, much better at reliability than we used to be, but clearly more work in front of us.
(it is now the 8th biggest website in the world according to similarweb--we have had a lot of work to do these past two years!)

OpenAI CEO Sam Altman posted on platform X that ChatGPT was inaccessible for 30 minutes. "We are far, much better at reliability than before, but obviously we still need to fix a lot," wrote Altman, accompanied by a gag emoji.
The disorder tracking site, Downdetector.com, reported that the ChatGPT service had experienced disruption for about half an hour, affecting more than 19,403 users at 7:13 p.m. ET (00.13 GMT on Saturday).
Since its launch in November 2022, ChatGPT has attracted 250 million active weekly users. OpenAI valuation jumped from USD 14 billion (IDR 219.1 trillion) in 2021 to USD 157 billion (IDR 2.4 quadrillion), with revenues reaching USD 3.6 billion (IDR 56.3 trillion), far beyond Altman's initial projections.
