MyFundAction Collects IDR 110 Billion Aid For Palestinians

JAKARTA - In the midst of a protracted crisis, Palestinians are now facing increasingly difficult conditions due to military attacks. Gazans are facing a severe crisis due to the blockade and destroyed infrastructure, including a lack of clean water and the risk of disease.

The food crisis worsened with more than 80 percent of agricultural land destroyed and 70 percent of livestock dying. Nearly half of households lack food supplies, so many of them have to miss meals for a few days.

The international community also shows concern for the suffering of Palestinians through various humanitarian aid efforts. A number of public figures and influencers have played an active role in voicing the importance of solidarity and support for Palestine.

One of the concrete steps taken is to unite solidarity to help meet the urgent needs of refugees, such as food, medicine, and medical devices.

MyFundAction solidarity action continues to accompany the Palestinian struggle, covering all basic needs and distributing direct assistance to affected areas. Several public figures even went directly to provide moral and material support to refugees in Egypt.

One of the great efforts in responding to this crisis is to unite the solidarity of Palestinian-careing people who have been successfully carried out by MyFundAction, an International NGO that focuses on Youth Development. With the strength of solidarity, MyFundAction managed to collect assistance worth Rp110 billion which was distributed to help Palestinians who are facing a humanitarian crisis.

MyFundAction wants to echo and increase assistance for Palestine by holding a solidarity event titled Unity For Palestine: A Force for Hope on Thursday 7 November, at Al-Jazeerah Lounge, Cikini, Central Jakarta.

MyFundAction CEO, Dr. Ghafur Rahim bin Mustakim, explained that the assistance collected came from various countries, such as Indonesia, Malaysia, and Brunei Darussalam. Part of the assistance will be distributed in the form of food, health, and moral support for Palestinians.

"With the Rp110 billion that has been collected, we hope this event can help Palestine to be able to help the residents there and continue, especially since we also invite public figures and influencers to defend Palestine," said Ghafur Rahim.

This event also involved the participation of well-known public figures and influencers who also garnered support, such as the public figure pair Arie Untung and Fenita Arie. The assistance provided by MyFundAction is not only in the form of material, but also helps provide clean water for "Water Tanks", distribution of 100 packages of Ready-to-Seize Meat, education guidance classes, health services, to moral support for the Palestinian people.

Since the attack in October 2023, MyFundAction has successfully distributed 30,000 ready-to-eat Meat packages containing 65 boxes and 2,000 medical equipment, 1,363,040 food packages, as well as 2,000 packages of psychological assistance, up to 4,000 hygiene kits along with 400kg formula milk.

In distributing aid, Arie Untung and Fenita Arie had the opportunity to directly visit Palestinian refugees who were in Egypt through the Box of Happiness program (complete food packages).

"Initially I became interested in collaboration with MyFundAction because it contained young people, and when they met they were happy to meet us because we provided assistance and I was touched by their struggle," said Arie Untung while visiting refugees in Egypt.

The public figure couple also took the time to visit hospitals treating Palestinian patients, and provide medical assistance to support their medical treatment. Fenita Arie expressed her concern.

"I'm sorry to hear their story even though it hurts. Hopefully this assistance can ease their burden," Fenita said.

MyFundAction hopes this step can help Palestinians to live a better and happier life, as well as encourage sustainable support from the global community.
