Electric Short Circuit Burns Kopegmar Jakut Building, Losses Estimated At IDR 340 Million
JAKARTA - The fire at the Kopegmar Building on Jalan Kramat Jaya Raya, Tugu Utara Village, Koja District, North Jakarta, on Sunday, November 10 in the morning was suspected to be due to a short circuit.
The North Jakarta and Thousand Islands Fire and Rescue Service (Gulkarmat) deployed 80 personnel to extinguish the fire that burned the building.
"We dispatched 80 personnel with 16 fire engines to extinguish the fire," said Head of the Operations Section (Kasiop) of North Jakarta and Islands Gulkarmat, Gatot Sulaeman, Sunday morning.
He said the beginning of this fire was known to the witness who was inside the building at around 02.30 WIB.
"Witnesses who are employees are sleeping and awakened due to hot temperatures," he said.
Next, the victim left the building and shouted for help. Then the security officers contacted Gulkarmat.

Initially six fire engines left for the location at 02.37 WIB and the beginning of the blackout began at 02.43 WIB. "The fire was successfully extinguished after almost three hours of handling, which was 05.50 WIB," he said.
He said the area of the object that caught fire was 140 square meters (m2) of the Kopegmar Building and 110 m2 of the canteen building. "For the alleged loss due to this fire, it is estimated that it reaches Rp. 340 million," he said.
