AHY Reveals Two Things That Make The State Budget Leak
JAKARTA - Coordinating Minister (Menko) for Regional Infrastructure and Development Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) revealed that there are two aspects of leakage against the state budget. AHY said the first aspect concerns mark up or budget inflation.
AHY emphasized that the practice of budget inflation needs to be prevented and fought. He stated that people's money should not be misused or misappropriated for personal purposes.
"The first is because there is an intention to mark up the leak that is intended, yes, of course this must prevent and fight because no public money should be misused, misappropriated for personal purposes," said AHY at the Public Works Ministry Auditorium, Jakarta, Friday, November 8.
The second is the inefficiency in the construction of a project, but the results are not felt for the community. Therefore, AHY reminded the need for careful calculations before carrying out the execution.
However, he said there were challenges in doing this. Moreover, many aspirations from the community want development from the government in their territory.

"It's not easy, people hope that this will be built, sir, it will be built, sir. However, it must be calculated properly. It's true that if we build something in a place that was expected not to be affected by infrastructure, because the cost is also not cheap. This is in accordance with the output, outcome," he said.
According to the Chairman of the Democratic Party, there needs to be benefits that can be optimized in infrastructure projects. For example, it can open up jobs to improve people's welfare. These things must be calculated carefully in the future.
"So this is also emphasized by Mr. President Prabowo, preventing leakage of the state budget as well as preventing inefficiency. Our task going forward is how we get better, the better. This is where the urgency of the Coordinating Ministry for Infrastructure integrates and coordinates all efforts to provide good infrastructure," he concluded.
