Pramono Agrees There Is A Garbage Island In The Thousand Islands, As Long As It Becomes A Power Plant
JAKARTA - Jakarta Governor Candidate number 3 Pramono Anung has no problem if the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government builds islands from piles of garbage in the waters of the Thousand Islands.
The discourse of a garbage island in the waters north of Jakarta was initially initiated by Heru Budi Hartono while still serving as Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta. Now, Heru's term has ended and has been replaced by Teguh Setyabudi.
However, Pramono emphasized that the island is not only used as a garbage collection. According to him, it is also necessary to build a waste power plant (PLTS) so that the pile of garbage can be processed into electrical energy.
"In these four, in the waste disposal site, it must have been thought of from the start to become a waste power plant. So that there is electricity in Pulau Seribu that feels really from garbage. If it can be carried out, I think this idea is ideal," said Pramono on Lancang Island, Thousand Islands, Friday, November 8th.
In addition, the former Cabinet Secretary also emphasized that the discourse on the construction of a waste island in the waters of the Thousand Islands must also be maintained from potential environmental damage.
"Good idea certainly needs to be considered. The most important thing is that if it is run it doesn't interfere with the ecosystem. Because garbage in Jakarta can't just be placed in Bantargebang," he explained.

Previously, the Head of the DKI Jakarta Environmental Agency, Asep Kuswanto, emphasized that the island development plan for waste management would continue in the leadership of the next DKI Governor.
This waste island has also been included in the regional medium-term development plan (RPJMD) for the next Jakarta Governors-Deputy Governors.
"We have also included this in the RPJMD and the construction of this waste island has also become a national strategic project, PSN. Hopefully, the successor of the Acting Heru governor can also continue (implement) with these documents," explained Asep.
The DKI Provincial Government will begin planning for the construction of a waste island in 2025. Gradually, a study on the reclamation of islands for waste and waste management will be carried out.
