Police Dismantle Naughty Practices Of Buying And Selling Pertalite In Tangerang
JAKARTA - Polda Metro Jaya uncovered the naughty practice of buying and selling subsidized fuel oil (BBM) types pertalite in Kosambi, Tangerang Regency. The mode is by modifying vehicle tanks.
"Disclosure of cases of alleged criminal acts of abuse of subsidized fuel transportation," said Director of Special Criminal Investigation at the Metro Jaya Police, Kombes Ade Safri Simanjuntak in his statement, Friday, November 8.
In this case, eight people were named as suspects, namely BT, H, R, SB, TA, and W. While the other two are employees of the Public Fuel Filling Station (SPBU).
"The suspects ED and NM are supervisors and operators of gas station dispensers," he said.
Dalan launched his action, six suspects modified the motorcycle fuel tank to accommodate pertalite.
Of course, their actions were assisted by ED and NM who were insiders from the gas station.
"Then the perpetrators moved the Pertalite type subsidized fuel into a derigen using a hose to be resold at a price above the subsidized fuel selling price set by the Government," said Ade.

From the disclosure of the case, five motorbikes were modified. Then, 10 jerry cans containing 35 Liters of Pertalite type fuel.
On the other hand, Ade said that the action was taken because subsidized fuel was not for resale. However, it must be given to the underprivileged people
"The government has committed that the use of subsidies that are people's money must be right on target. Subsidies must benefit the underprivileged," said Ade.
The suspects in this case are suspected of under Article 55 of Law Number 22 of 2001 concerning Oil and Gas as amended by Law Number 6 of 2023 concerning Stipulation of Government Regulations in Lieu of Law Number 2 of 2022 concerning Job Creation into Law in conjunction with Article 55 of the Criminal Code and or Article 56 of the Criminal Code.
