COVID-19 Update As Of April 8: 5.504 New Cases. 1.552.880 Accumulated Cases
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health released additional positive cases of the latest COVID-19 as of today. A total of 73.416 specimens were examined today. As a result, there were 5.504 new positive cases of COVID-19.
"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was found in Indonesia reached 1.552.880 people and active cases dropped to 111.271 cases", as quoted from the Ministry of Health data, Thursday, April 8.
Cases recovered today increased by 7.640 cases, bringing the total to 1.399.382 people cured. Then, the number of positive confirmation cases that died increased by 163 people and a total of 42.227 people.
The province with the newest cases was in DKI Jakarta with 1.239 cases and a total of 389.577 cases. Followed by Central Java which has 796 new cases with a total of 172.666 cases. West Java has 673 new cases and a total of 255.903 cases. Then, South Kalimantan has 301 new cases and a total of 29.618 cases.
The province with the most cured cases today belongs to Central Java with an increase of 2.718 cured cases. Followed by West Java with an increase of 1.182 cases recovered, DKI Jakarta with an increase of 567 cases recovered, and South Kalimantan with an increase of 497 cases recovered.

Two provinces reported no new cases today. The provinces that reported zero new cases were North Kalimantan and Gorontalo. In addition, the number of specimens examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigens reached 13.113.647.
"The positive result per number of specimens examined or positivity rate this week was 17.83 percent", he wrote.
For the number of people suspected of contracting COVID-19 or currently categorized as suspected cases, it is recorded at 58.214 people. Currently, 510 districts/cities from 34 provinces have had cases of COVID-19.
Furthermore, there are currently 9.309.809 people who have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 4.665.191 second dose vaccinations. Meanwhile, the total vaccination target of phases 1 and 2 reached 40.349.051 people.
