Anies Baswedan Claims Civil Servants In DKI Have Enough Salary So That They Don't Have To Corrupt
JAKARTA - Governor of DKI Anies Baswedan claimed the Civil Servants (ASN) in Jakarta have enough salary so that they do not have to corrupt. Because a large income can be a solution to prevent corruption.
"Thank God, in Jakarta, the solution is with the ASNs revenue made equal to income for other activities in Jakarta. We made them have enough money", said Anies in a virtual discussion with the theme "Dissecting the Corruption Practices of Regional Heads", Thursday, April 8.
Anies believes that one of the underlying factors that people practice corruption is their necessity. According to Anies, if a person cannot meet the needs of a decent life where they work, then they should look for additional income to cover it.
"For example, their lives need IDR 10 million a month, while their income is IDR 7 million a month. Then they must find the IDR 3 million extra. It could be taken through the authority used to get additional filling in the empty money. This is the type of corruption because of the need", explained Anies.
That's why, said Anies, the determination of salaries and allowances for ASNs in DKI is made enough to fill the needs of each.
According to him, the second factor of people doing corruption is greed. According to him, the greedy man never felt enough for what he had.
"Greed is something that has no end. How to deal with it with severe punishment, strict sanctions, indiscriminate sanctions. This is then the solution", he said.

Another factor is the system. In this factor a person can get caught up in the practice of corruption due to a process he or she is working on. These three factors show that people who commit corruption have breakthroughs in doing their practices.
Therefore, said Anies, himself as the regional head will continue to innovate to control corruption practices in the capital.
"Our job is to constantly innovate in controlling such practices. What we are doing is digitizing the planning, budgeting, to procurement", he said.
